The gigs at Himos were great! It was a great sensation to play heavy after a long break. And yes, we will be playing more heavy in the near future!
We brought a couple of new songs to light at Himos and we got some great feedback. Hopefully we have the time to go and record them to a more formal
form and bring them forth for you to listen.
Myspace will be one of the first medias to be uploaded with the new material. Until then, keep on rocking!

Himoksella esitettiin myös muutama uusi kappale ja saimme niistä loistavaa palautetta. Toivottavasti löydämme aikaa nauhoittaa kappaleet virallisempaan
muotoon, jotta kaikki pääsisivät niitä kuulemaan.

23.4.2009 Shows cancelled / Keikkoja peruttu
We have been forced to cancel our acoustic gigs for the time being. Mika had an unfortunate accident and his hand is now broken.
Though Mika won't be able to play the guitar for a while, we are still working on the new material! We promise to upload a few sneakpeeks to myspace
when the material is ready!
In the meantime... rock och roll.
Valitettavasti joudumme perumaan akustiset keikat väliaikaisesti, sillä Mikan käsi on murtunut.

Mika Mikkelä who appears on the Hinderance album and has also been a longtime Downstone member in the unplugged line-up now replaces Kai
Kinnunen in the band.

Good news!
We have received a lot of questions and the demand seems to be great, so we decided to release a new studio version of Farewell. It will be available
for free download for a few days before Christmas. The days are still unknown to us, but they will be announced in time.
The heavy frontier has also had progress... the new material is coming along quite nicely. Hopefully we can provide sneak peeks for you to listen
before the end of the year ;)
Also, we are planning gigs all around Finland to spread our "love" in the near future! Perhaps we can put together a few mini-tours, let's see ;)

Hyviä uutisia!
Useiden kysymyksien jälkeen ja kovan kysynnän johdosta olemme päättäneet julkaista uuden studioversion Farewellistä. Biisi tulee olemaan ladattavissa
ilmaiseksi ennen joulua muutaman päivän ajan. Päivämääristä ei ole vielä tietoa, mutta ne ilmoitetaan ajoissa.
Hevirintamalla tapahtuu myös edistystä... uudet biisit kasaantuvat sopivalla tahdilla. Toivottavasti voimme toimittaa pieniä esimakupätkiä
kuunneltavaksi ennen vuodenvaihdetta ;)
Lähitulevaisuuteen on suunnitteilla ja työn alla myös useita keikkoja ympäri Suomenmaan! Jospa saisimme kasaan jonkunlaisia mini-kiertueita ;)

9.11.2008 Before Christmas / Joulun huuma
Christmas is here.
Two whole months of commercials and discounts, fake Santas and swarms of busy people, all running late from something. But this is
the time when all the elves are very productive. They build all kinds of toys and gadgets for all the kids around the world (that is if you still
believe in that). Right...
Although we are not elves, we have been very productive as well. Even if people are busy at this time of year, we have taken the time to carefully
choose the songs that will be recorded to the new Downstone album. We are well on our way in making the final selections and adjustments to the new
material. Tommi was also creative enough to come up with a short, juicy and even a bit progressive sounding guitar riff that I'm sure you all would
like to hear! Or not. Anyway... we might even be able to put some sneakpeaks on myspace in
the near future. Keep on checking from time to time!
Also, the end of the year has carried a few changes under its wings. Change often reveals good things, but more about those later...
Joulu on ovela.
Pari raastavaa kuukautta mainoksia, alennusmyyntejä, valePukkeja ja laumoittain kiireisiä ihmisiä, jotka ovat kaikki myöhässä jostain. Mutta
tähän aikaanhan kaikki tontut ovat tuotteliaimmillaan. Kaikenmaailman pelit ja pensselit, lelut ja kalut jalostuvat tonttujen taitavissa
käsissä maailman kaikkien lapsien iloksi. Jos nyt joku vielä tuohon uskoo...
Vaikka meistä kukaan ei ole lähelläkään tonttua, ovat myös meidän kätöset olleet puuhakkaina. Kaiken tämän kiireen keskellä Downstonen uudet kappaleet
käyvät läpi tarkkaa syyniä, minkä seurauksena parhaat sullotaan uudelle albumille. Tommi äityi tahollaan jopa niin tuottoisaksi, että luovalla
kosketuksellaan sai aikaiseksi todella mehukkaan, aavistuksen progehtavan, lyhyen kitarariffin, jonka kuulemista ei kukaan voi olla odottamatta.
Tai ehkä voi... Siitäkin huolimatta myspacesta saattaa löytyä jonkinlaista esimakua
jossain hamaassa lähitulevaisuudessa. Käykää kurkkimassa aika ajoin!
Vuoden loppu on tuonut tullessaan myös pieniä muutoksia. Eikä muutos ole useinkaan pahasta. Tästä lisää ehkä jo ensi jaksossa!
6.10.2008 After the Gloria / Glorian jälkihöyryt
Though the night was windy and dark, the mood in Gloria was a positive one. Downstone would like to thank the audience for the glorious night!
The thanks also belong to all associates of whom without the evening would have not been possible!
The band is now going through a strong creative phase. Bits and pieces of musical harmonies are welded together in the dark corners across Oulu.
If the omens are correct, the new material will bring forth strong sensations and tight headbanging for the audience and the band. Still, the acoustic
elements have brought something to the music that cannot be discarded from the material to come...
Vaikka ilta olikin pimeä ja tuulinen, vallitsi Gloriassa torstaina lämminhenkinen tunnelma. Downstone haluaakin kiittää runsaslukuista yleisöä,
joka saapui todistamaan keikkaa. Ilta oli hieno! Kiitokset on syytä osoittaa tietysti myös kaikille yhteistyökumppaneille, jotka ylipäänsä
mahdollistivat tapahtuman järjestämisen.
Downstone elää tällä hetkellä vahvasti luovaa vaihetta ja biisiaihiot nivoutuvat hiljalleen yhteen kämpän kätköissä.
Jos ennusmerkit pitävät kutinsa, tulollaan on tanakkaa runtua niin kuulijoille kuin bändillekin. Tosin akustissessioiden myötä
ilmaisuun on luonnollisesti tarttunut taas jotain uuttakin...

Ravintola Gloria, Oulu. The event requires tickets that can be won from

The Pyhä Unplugged 2008 event was magnificient! When you see beautiful scenery, enjoy good music and on top of all that
get a chance to perform in an event like this for three days... what else can you do than enjoy the ride? We surely did.

8.8.2008 plans delayed!
Unfortunately our plans for the 8.8.2008 have been delayed. We have encountered some technical difficulties that prevent
us from following the original gameplan. Hopefully we will overcome these difficulties soon and give you all something new
to talk about! Wait for it...

Some of you might have noticed that we've been a bit in the background for these few months. We've been working on new songs
and something else as well. Our plans are already focused on the upcoming spring, but before that we'll come out of the shadows.

25.1.2008 Pyhä Winter Unplugged!
Greetings from Pyhä!
We've finished our first performance and now we're sitting in a sauna!
Eventhough there are rumours going around, we DO clean ourselves... sometimes.
We had a great welcome at the Carlsberg cabin... someone left a few beercans for us to empty!
Anyway, we've been asked to play again tonight... und mein Gabel, we will do so!
We'll be throwing another gig tomorrow as well, or perhaps two.
We don't know yet, but we don't care. As long as we can play!
Now we really have to focus on the beercans... More news tomorrow.

So, we will be rocking hard at Rytmikorjaamo, Seinäjoki on the
15th of February with 5 other bands.

Hi everyone!
We've been rehearsing our acoustic set very hard in the past weeks! Practically we have worked our asses off.
It´s going to sound very atmospheric and moody.
We also have some interesting plans for the next spring. They will be announced soon!
23.10.2007 NEW SONGS AT WILLISIKA
We are also working on new killer material all the time. Willisika show at 26.12 will feature a few new tracks. You have a unique opportunity to see Downstone as unveiled
as possible at Amarillo Acoustic, and also at its usual energetic self at Willisika show. We have gotten a lot of good feedback from you guys, especially concerning our
live-"treatment". Thank you all for that! Keep on rocking!
21.10.2007 News gigs confirmed!
Amarillo gig will be played with only acoustic guitars and maybe some rhytmn instruments. We tried to bring out the core of all the songs when
rearranging them. The goal was to unveil the feeling that usually might not be put out so clearly, especially on the "rougher" tracks. The tunes will create a classy and
very emotional atmosphere, but still bring out the Downstone energy. Remember to mark it on your calendar!

Gig at Onnela, Rovaniemi has been re-scheduled due to massive water hazard at the scene.
